UPDATE: May 2, 2024 from EMA: "Senator Marshall (R-KS) has filed the "The Credit Card Competition Act" (CCCA) as an amendment to the Federal Aviation administration (FAA) reauthorization legislation currently pending on the Senate floor. EMA urges all jobbers and retailers to reach out to their Senators and ask them to VOTE YES on the Credit Card Competition Act amendment." According to NACS: "Credit card swipe fees for the convenience store industry have increased a staggering 82% over the last 3 years and now stand at $19.5 billion. But bipartisan legislation in Congress would tackle these fees and help protect Main Street businesses from the megabanks on Wall Street. NACS proudly supports the Credit Card Competition Act of 2023 (S. 1838/H.R. 3881), bipartisan, bicameral legislation." NECSEMA proudly supports this legislation too and asks you to write Congress today! |
