Convenience Stores and Gas Stations
Best Practices to Curtail the Spread of Illness and to Protect Employees
- Reiterating to employees and Franchisees the importance of staying home if individuals have any symptoms of the COVID-19 illness or if they feel sick.
- Offering enhanced leave for employees to provide flexibility and support if sick, caring for school-age children, or caring for a family member.
- Increasing the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing high touch surfaces in-store and at the pumps.
- Increased cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms.
- Providing hand sanitizer at checkout counter for Associates and Customers Use.
- Providing plastic gas mitts for customers at fuel dispensers or offering to pump fuel for customers.
- Working with vendors and suppliers to stock stores with high demand, essential products.
- Displaying CDC-recommended hygiene posters in high-traffic areas in stores.
- Temporarily discontinuing the use of personal cups for hot and cold dispensed beverages. While still honoring the discount usually offered for anyone who brings in a personal cup to participating stores.
- Demonstrating to customers and the communities we serve that we are here to provide quality products at fair, honest prices. Any violations of federal, state or local price-gouging laws will not be tolerated. If you see this happening, report your concern to your State Attorney General.
- Eliminating food and beverage sampling offerings.
- Promoting cashless transactions.
